ADVOCACY

What we stand for.

How AI is governed will decide whether it serves people - or simply happens to them. We believe the built world deserves a voice in that decision, and we’re building one. These are the convictions we work from, advocate from, and will not trade away.

Our guiding principles

01. Guardrails make speed safe.

We are pro-innovation, which is exactly why we stand for governance. The goal is not to slow AI down; it is to make sure the mistakes we make are the reversible kind.

02. Innovation must respect its footprint.

AI is not weightless. It lives in data centers, on land, on grids, in water systems - in the built world. Advocating for the resources that power this future is not anti-growth; it is how growth survives.

03. A seat for the unheard.

The people most affected by AI-driven decisions are the least represented where those decisions are made. We advocate so that AI is something done with people, never merely to them.

04. Agency through understanding.

Complexity is a form of gatekeeping. We translate AI’s realities into plain language so that leaders, lawmakers, and citizens can decide for themselves where AI belongs - and where it doesn’t.

05. Experience is not a use case.

Connection, community, and the feeling of a place are not inefficiencies awaiting automation. Every generation deserves a built world designed for being human in.

A note from our founder

For twenty years, I've worked in the rooms where decisions get made about the built world. As a lawyer, an operator, and an innovation advisor, my job is to sit between the deal and the people it touches and make sure it actually works for everyone at the table.

This work taught me something I've never stopped believing: the spaces we build shape the lives we live. It also taught me how power moves in a negotiation, and what it looks like when one side holds all the leverage and the other has to live with the outcome.

That's what I see happening now with AI.

AI is deciding where data centers rise and what they consume. How buildings run, how deals get done. And, more and more, how decisions get made about the people who live and work inside them. Here is what worries me: the people most affected by those decisions are almost never in the room.

Let me be clear about one thing: I am not afraid of or against this technology. My main focus is on helping organizations adopt it, and I've seen what it makes possible. That's exactly why I believe in guardrails.

Innovation and human dignity are not a trade-off. They are the same project. The goal is not to slow AI down out of fear. It's to make sure decisions are made from an informed place, the mistakes we make as we learn are the reversible kind, and that the essence of being human is never something we automate away.

I'm the daughter of Lebanese immigrants. I learned early that a seat at the table is never simply handed to you. That lesson never left me. It's part of why I became a lawyer.

So we're expanding our work. In the months ahead, ezzie + co. will launch a dedicated advocacy organization, a home for our policy research and our voice on how AI should be governed in the world it's physically built on. So that when the rules get written, someone in that room understands both the technology and the people on the other side of every decision.

Until then, this page is where our convictions live. If they resonate, whether you're a leader, shape policy, or simply care how this era turns out, I'd love to hear from you.

A dedicated advocacy organization is coming.

Work this important deserves to stand on its own, so that's exactly what we're building: a new name, a growing body of research, and a mission driven by pure passion. Stay tuned.
